October 2009
i don’t really get the fuss these days. tonight is being spent inside with harry potter films and snacks. we passed a lot of cute kids on the way home already dressed up in little outfits like ghosts and swap monsters (i was impressed with that one) - i dig all that. we also passed people my age dressed in stupid costumes and skimpy dresses - i don’t dig that as much. i dunno, i like the innocent halloween a lot more. not meaning to be a fun sponge or anything, ya know.
a new coffee house has opened up in our city and its totally rad. it is all family run and the cutest thing. i got served by a set of twins in matching sweaters who took my order of coffee and cake and paid at the till to the father. its all space and big wooden tables (with benches so it means you need to share!) and low lighting and books on shelves and 6 types of ginger beer. i can’t wait till it gets colder and we get to hustle in through the snow and wind. i’m going to take my dissertation there next week and work like a machine. AND most importantly the coffee is so nice.
the culture show on BBC2 come from the glasgow school of art made me feel all nice. if only i had a scratch of artistic talent…ahhh….oh well.
pretty excited!! yeah! what have other people made of it? an education is out on friday too - that looks rad! and then on sunday our local indep. cinema is showing the royal tenenbaums (a film i’ve always wanted to see at a cinema). GREAT.
also, wtf @ the weather. it was 17 degrees here today. at the end of october? that surely ain’t right. this is better weather than we had through most of summer!
dont really say anything to me about my life, and i bet they say fuck all to you about yours.
Incestuous picture reblogging is the cancer killing Tumblr.
this. so much this.
the cancer killing tumblr is the pictures of bold text in clean fonts laid over a flat colour background giving vague, fortune-cookie generalities that only relate to people because they’re so all encompassing as to not even really mean anything poignant at all.
ALSO THIS. and half naked pictures of teenage girls/boys sprawled across pieces of tarpaulin taken by ‘wacky’ disposal cameras that are then reblogged on supposed artist merit because they show an unseen higher reasoning and a beauty that can only be reached by such actions and not because they are half naked pictures of teenage girls/boys. ken.
i am admittedly less opposed to this example, but you are definitely correct.
i am possibly of the same disposition but my internet credibility holds a higher standard.
